Academic Advising System
Akita International University is a small academic community where it is very easy for students to meet and talk to faculty members. Often, students and faculty members know each other very well. So me students stop by in faculty offices to chat with their former or present teachers about academic and non-academic matters. The university encourages students to communicate with faculty and staff members openly and seek advice of any kind whenever needed.
Our Advising System has designed to stimulate students’ academic interests, assist in optimal use of the university resources, and support in overcoming students' academic and personal challenges. Students may benefit from advice based on experience beyond the professional life of their mentors.
All students at Akita International University, including international students, are assigned an academic advisor. Students are required to meet with their advisor to discuss an appropriate selection of courses and other academic matters. All faculty members are requested to set up office hours for the purpose of maintaining close contact with their advisees.
