HOW TO APPLY

 

The application period has ended.
Application deadline for our Summer Program is late February every year.

 

Online Application Guidelines

Before you start the online application process, please check if you are eligible to apply for our Summer Program:


Eligibility to Apply for our Summer Program 2010

    • Enrollment Status - Applicants must be enrolled at their home university/college both at the time of application and during their stay at AIU, and have completed at least two semesters of studies at the time of application.

    • GPA - Applicants must have a cumulative GPA (Grade Point Average) of 2.50 or higher.

     

Important Notes before You Start the Online Application

Prepare the following required documents for submission on hand:

a) Completed “Questionnaires on Japanese Language Competency
You can download the form from here (MS word). Please ask your Japanese language instructor to assess your qualifications.

b) Official Academic transcript of home university

c) Personal Statement of Purpose

d) A Letter of recommendation from faculty
You can download the form from here (MS Excel). Please carefully note that if you are not an exchange student from our partner school, you are required to submit two letters of recommendation.

e) Proof of English language proficiency (if applicable)

 

It is important that you provide your E-mail address correctly because you will receive a “Confirmation Sheet” in a PDF file by E-mail after you complete and submit the online application to us. For this reason, an E-mail address of your cell phone is not acceptable.

Visa to Enter Japan

The requirements for a visa to enter Japan differ by nationality, the purpose of visit, and the length of intended period of stay. Please check "List of Countries and Regions That Have Visa Exemption Arrangement with Japan" on the following website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan to see if you are required to obtain a visa: http://www.mofa.go.jp/j_info/visit/visa/02.html.

If your country does not have a visa exemption agreement with Japan, please contact the nearest Japanese Embassy or Consulate in your country.
