Please note that the application forms posted herein should only be used for the Spring Semester 2010 admission. Application information and forms for Fall Semester 2010 will be available on our website from February 1, 2010. Also note that the deadline for application submissions for the Fall Semester 2010 will be April 1, 2010.

Over 100 international students annually come to Akita International University from around the world, making northern Japan a truly global environment. Many of our international students study either for a semester or a year to deepen their understanding of Japan and the world.

 

How to Apply for Spring Semester 2010

 

IMPORTANT!!
Before you start your application process, please make sure that your computer is equipped with the latest version of Adobe Reader 9.2. It is available from the following Adobe Official Site:

After the latest Adobe Reader is installed, download the following AIU Application Guidelines. It contains information about eligibility, application documents, procedures to follow, and other important immigration information:

Once you understand the information stated in the Guidelines, please download the "AIU Application Forms." These forms are for two different purposes: the first 3 pages are for AIU International Application Forms, and the remaining 3 pages are for Application for Immigration, i.e., Certificate of Eligibility.

Additionally, one reference form has to be included in the application. Please download the following form and pass it onto your mentor.

As explained in the Guidelines, fill in the necessary information in the highlighted sections on the application forms and reference form, then scan the printed application forms along with admission documents so that you can send the relevant materials to the following e-mail address:

international@aiu.ac.jp

 

Please carefully note that we must receive the hardcopy of the completed forms. Please send, via postal mail, all the completed forms with supporting materials (i.e., ID photos, certificate of English proficiency, if applicable, and so on) to the following mailing address:
