Akita International University is a unique university in Japan and provides students’ education entirely in English.

Currently half of the full-time faculty members are foreign citizens from 11 countries. The university offers small classes to students from throughout Japan, and to international students from more than 130 affiliated schools.

AIU offers three-year employment contracts and yearly wages to all full-time faculty members regardless of nationality, in order to maintain and develop the quality of our education as a Liberal Arts University. Academic Tenure is also available after review.
