Website Designs to Convey Four Seasons in Akita

December 2, 2009

Since the renewal of its website in April 2009, Akita International University has changed the background designs of its website on a seasonal basis.  December 1, 2009 saw the launch of the winter design, completing the four different seasonal designs that depict aspects of Akita.

For the winter version, the snow crystals and snowman on the top page represents the long, rigorous, but beautiful winter, while the illustrated demons called “Namahage” in red and blue on the following pages convey the abundant traditional events that take place in Akita.

The following are the screenshots and themes of the other three seasons:

Spring:

Petals of cherry trees, Sakura,  and a bush warbler, Uguisu

Summer:

Colorful bursts of fireworks, Hanabi, and sunflowers, Himawari

Fall:

Colored maple leaves & red dragonflies, Momiji & Akatombo,
and stalks of rice,
Inaho
