Three More Institutions Join Akita International University's Network!

In March, 2010, three new institutions partnered with Akita International University, increasing our number of partner schools to an impressive 107 universities in 31 countries and regions!

We hope the addition of these and more schools will increase the international atmosphere and exchange of ideas on our campus. If you are a student attending one of these partner schools, we hope you will consider experiencing Japan by studying at Akita International University.
Our new partners in the order that they joined our network are: The College of William and Mary in Virginia, U.S.A.; The University of Sydney in Sydney, Australia; and University of Toulouse II in Toulouse, France.

The College of William and Mary
The College of William and Mary is the second oldest college in the United States and is known as one of the “Public Ivys.” In addition to an excellent undergraduate program with 5,700 students, it has graduate programs in arts and sciences, business, education, law, and marine sciences. The College of William and Mary also boasts such famous alumni as former US presidents Thomas Jefferson, James Monroe, and John Tyler.

The University of Sydney
The University of Sydney is Australia’s oldest university, founded in 1850. Its graduates include famous figures in Australian culture and politics, such as former Australian prime minister John Howard. The University of Sydney was also included in The UK Times Higher Education Supplement ranking of the top 40 universities in the world. It was also selected as one of the top 20 universities in the world for linguistics education and research. Of its 46,000 students, nearly 10,000 are international students.

University of Toulouse II in Toulouse
Founded at the start of the 13th century, University of Toulouse was since split into 3 smaller universities. Le Mirail, also known as University of Toulouse II, has 24,000 students including 3,700 international students from 138 countries and regions. Toulouse, France’s 6th largest city, has the third largest student population in France, making it a great city for learning and research.
