Global Village Apartments
After completing their first year at Akita International University and living in the Komachi Dormitory, most degree-seeking students elect to continue living on campus in either the Global Village Apartments or University Village Apartments. If the number of full-time students requesting on-campus housing exceeds the number of available rooms, the residents are chosen by lottery. Non degree-seeking international students, are guaranteed on-campus housing.
The Global Village Apartments are award-winning for their environmental friendliness. Non degree-seeking international students are usually housed in either the Komachi Dormitory, the Global Village Apartments, or the University Village Apartments.

A laundry room is available (Laundry and dryer cycles are 40 minutes long and cost 100 JPY each). It is possible to rent bedding from the university for the duration of your stay. |

Global Village Apartment Room Layout
Rent & Other Expenses
Rent for the Global Village Apartments is significantly lower than those of off-campus housing. Residents do not have to pay "key money" or large deposits as is customary for renting most Japanese apartments. They do, however, have to pay a small fee to have the room cleaned after they leave the room.
