Main Activities
ARCH is from "intra" to "inter"
The main activities of Global Arch are holding a general meeting and other reunion gathering, planning a budget, electing board members, organizing a meeting with graduates and current students, career consultation, homecoming day, celebration events, home stay programs and other events.
The Association will also support activities that connect AIU and local communities, and activities, by which current students contribute to the local communities. The Association returns what graduated students have learned and gained from the experiences at AIU to the parents and citizens of Akita, who have encouraged us to study in a great environment in Akita. At the same time, the Association will be building up a support system that encourages further growth of students.1. Board Meeting and General Meeting
A Board Meeting will be held more than once every year. Regular members can exchange opinions and approve activities, a budget plan, and the accounting of the association.
A General Meeting will be held once a year. Agenda items discussed at Board Meetings will be finally decided.
2. Alumni Reunion and Class Reunion
We will support having alumni reunions and class reunions to promote mutual friendship between members of the Alumni Association.
3. Management of Data of Address
We will manage the data of Alumni Association members, such as addresses to send announcements of events. Please contact the headquarters of the Association if your address changes because of moving, etc. No information will be given to any other person based on the personal information protection law.
4. Homecoming Day
We invite alumni to their alma mater and will let them know the current situation of the university by looking around their remembered places as well as new facilities on campus and by participating in the school festival. We also will organize several events to promote mutual friendship among alumni, the university, faculty members, and current students.
5. Career Counseling
We will support current students' finding employment with alumni cooperation by holding career advisement events and by managing a bulletin board for career counseling on the website of the Association.
6. Events to Connect AIU and the Local Community
We will share our experience acquired at the university with people in Akita prefecture, where the university is located, by organizing projects such as current students' teaching English conversation to local people.
7. Contribution of Commemorative Gifts for Graduation or Books
We will contribute commemorative gifts for graduation at the commencement. We will also donate books which alumni used while in school and manage lending them.
