The Preparatory Committee of AIU Alumni Association

In order to establish AIU Alumni Association, the Preparatory Committee was set up on the initiative of AIU students. The committee consisted of 21student members from juniors and seniors. We have been working for the set of goal of establishing AIU Alumni Association by March 2008, when the first graduates would leave AIU.

The Preparatory Committee had worked actively since September 2007, holding meetings on a weekly-basis. We dealt with many tasks, such as,
1) selecting the official designation and the logo for AIU Alumni Association from AIU students
2) proposing and discussing the regulations, contents of activities, ideas for network building among Alumni members.

Our members split into small teams under the divisions of roles. Individual teams brought tasks and proposals to the general meetings and decisions were made there.

The preparation process was not an easy path for us, since AIU did not have graduates. However, we worked hard to accomplish the shared goal of "maintaining the human network built in AIU." We are proud that we could launch "AIU Alumni Association, Global Arch", which includes unique contents (for instance, "global members" are set as one category of membership).

Finally, we would like to express our greatest appreciation to President Nakajima, the faculty and staff of AIU administration office for giving us their support, and for their cooperation during the preparation period. Now, Global Arch has completed all projects for the preparation period and has been officially established. We hope that the AIU Alumni Association will develop from now on and function as an "Arch" to connect the Alumni members.
